An Italian Guitar Wizard - Steve Vai

Steve Vai

Steven Siro Vai is an Italian-American rock Guitar Wizard born on June 6th, 1960. In addition to his guitar wizardry he is also a composer, song writer, vocalist and producer. He embarked on his music career as a music transcriptionist for the group Frank Zappa. He set out on his solo career in the year 1984 and has over 14 albums spanning his career through the year 2010. He also worked with Frank Zappa and also was affiliated with numerous different bands such as Alcatrazz, David Lee Roth and Whitesnake. Steve vai became the steady tour member for the G3 Guitar tour with Joe Satriani which started in the year 1996.

Steve became a member of the Frank Zappa band and toured along with the band transliterating each of his works. Zappa forever denoted Steve as his younger "Italian Virtuoso" and Zappa forever minded to him when he performed his "stunt Guitar". In the year 2006, he came back back to music to perform for the song penned by Frank Zappa for his son, Dweezil Zappa in Zappa plays Zappa.

Steve posted Frank Zappa one of his arrangement works which is founded on the "The Black Page", an instrumental body of work for drums. Along with the mail, he also sent a tape that carried a some of his Guitar Wizard jams. Frank Zappa was therefore affected by the body of work that he at once employed Steve Vai for transliterating his complete body of works. Each of the written text by Steve Vai on Zappa's works are printed in a book called The Frank Zappa Guitar Book in the year 1982.

He traveled to California in the year 1982 departing Zappa. He recorded his inaugural solo album "Flex-Able" in the same year and afterwards performed with several additional bands. He even supplanted another guitar wizard by the name of Yngwie Malmsteen, to be the lead guitarist for Graham Bonnet's Alcatrazz. Alcatrazz went on to record the album "Disturbing the Peace" with Steve Vai.

In 1985, he linked up with David Lee Roth's band and recorded the albums "Skyscraper" and "Eat 'Em and Smile". These proved to be opportune for Vai when he was discovered by the general rock audience. He would In fact be was largely compared to Eddie Van Halen by a lot of readers. He coupled Whitesnake in the year 1989 substituting Vivian Campbell. Vai played all the songs for the album "slip of the tongue" while the lead guitarist Adrian Vandenberg bruised his wrist. He also played with Joe Satriani for the song "feed my Frankenstein" for Alice Cooper's album "Hey Stoopid".

On the whole, Steve Vai continues to prove to be one of the most skilled guitar players in modern rock history. Steve is believed by many to be one of the superlative guitar wizards of all time.
